NHS workers in West Yorkshire strike against the outsourcing of their jobs

NHS workers in West Yorkshire are striking against a plan to transfer porters, cleaners and other support staff to a ‘wholly-owned subsidiary’ called Bradford Healthcare Facilities Management Ltd on 1 October. The transfer could cause workers to lose their benefits of working in the NHS, as their bosses are allowed to change the terms and conditions of their workers 12 months after their jobs are outsourced.
