NHS are struggling to fulfil the needs of 4.23 million people in England waiting for a hip operation in March alone, with this figure on the increase. The number of patients now being outsourced (approx 1 in 3) is ten times higher than what it was a decade ago. Private companies appear less willing to help older patients from deprived areas, despite the fact that people might not be able to walk whilst they wait on average four and a half months for treatment.
