WHAT NHS CARE HAS BEEN OUTSOURCED?

Over the last 4 years over £25bn worth of NHS contracts have been put up for tender.

40% of these contracts have been won by the NHS, but 60% have gone to the private sector and to a lesser extent charities

We counted over 80 different types of clinical care. covering virtually every type of treatment that NHS provides. This information came from the adverts placed by NHS commissioners that invited bidders.

What services are affected?

What is the future?

In fact there have been a number of different initiatives to involve the private sector over several decades, but all are connected by one the common claim by politicians that proposed them - that they will deliver substantial benefits to patients.

This website looks at the scope and the impact of these policies and put these claims to the test. Of course we cannot hide our own view, but we attempt to represent the counter view and use the evidence to make our analysis.
