80 jobs ‘at risk’ at West Midlands Ambulance trust as private firm awarded patient contract

More than 80 staff at the West Midlands Ambulance Trust were ‘in tears’ worried about their jobs as the contract was awarded to private provider, E-zec Medical Transport. West Midlands Ambulance Trust had run the contract for 30 years. A Unison representative said: “This is a devastating decision for staff after health commissioners in Worcestershire awarded the service to private firm E-zec Medical Transport.”

E-zec had reportedly not confirmed if it will keep the patient transport service hubs after it took over next April.
