CQC investigation leads to home care service shut down

A service run by Curae Home Care has been shut down and an investigation launched into its practices over concerns it was putting clients at risk of harm.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors have now decided to take urgent enforcement action. The service looks after dozens of people in their own homes with “dementia, learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorder, mental health, people who misuse drugs and alcohol, physical disability and sensory impairment”. A CQC inspection on 5 September 2019 raised concerns about the standards and the risk to people receiving care. During the latest inspection, CQC found significant and ongoing issues of people being exposed to the risk of harm.
