A third of Britons aren’t going to the dentist as it’s too pricey
More and more people do not go to the dentist because it’s too expensive, according to research by Hudgell Solicitors. Even under the NHS in the UK checkups cost £22.50, fillings or extractions £62.10 and crowns or a false tooth £269.30. Private providers including BUPA, SimplyHealth and Health Shield have set up policies where people pay monthly to receive standard treatments such as optician check-ups, physiotherapy and sometimes teeth whitening and massage.
